Priorities to put in your brief
- Identify the practice-management or CRM application and required actions.
- Confirm connector ownership, call logging and record-matching behavior.
- Review access to recordings, transcripts and client information.
Follow the client conversation into the matter
Start with how a new inquiry becomes a client or matter. Identify who answers, how calls are assigned and where notes belong. A small firm may need straightforward calling with reliable logging, while a larger practice may require intake queues and supervision.
Verify the practice-management connector
Name Clio or the other application and the exact action required. Ask how contacts are matched, where notes appear and whether entries can be reviewed before saving. Check connector fees, supported editions and the party responsible for maintenance. A historical customer story is useful context but not a current compatibility guarantee.
Protect continuity and access
Review staff offboarding, mobile calling and access to recordings or summaries. Decide what happens when a lawyer is unavailable or a connector fails. Pilot with a small team and non-sensitive test records, checking that communications attach to the intended record.
