Priorities to put in your brief

  • Separate internal collaboration from customer-facing support.
  • Identify CRM, ticketing and developer-platform workflows.
  • Review cloud operating ownership, recovery and cost visibility.

Connect the customer journey to the product team

Map sales, onboarding, support and engineering escalation. A customer issue may move between a phone queue, CRM and ticketing system; identify the record that should survive each handoff. Keep internal collaboration needs separate from customer-service requirements.

Validate integrations with the actual stack

Name the CRM, service desk and identity provider. Demonstrate caller identification, ticket association and escalation using test records. Ask what is native, what uses a partner app and what requires development. API availability alone does not mean the desired workflow is already built.

Review the infrastructure alongside communications

Cloud compute, backup and security decisions need clear operational ownership. Define monitoring, recovery and cost-review responsibilities. Pilot a complete incident journey so a communications outage does not prevent your team from coordinating a response to a product issue.

Vendor research shortlist
